Uluru
Hello everyone. Today´s post is about Uluru. I hope you´ll enjoy it.
ULURU
Uluru, or if you want- Ayers Rock, is a large sandstone rock formation. It is located in Northern Territory in central Australia. It is a part of the Uluru- Kata Tjuta National Park. Uluru is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is sacred to the Aboriginal people(=traditional inhabitants of this area) and it is very important to them, so they want to protect it from tourists.
The sandtone formation is 348 m high (863 m above sea level) , 3,6 km long and 2,4 km wide. Uluru contains aluminium and silicates(=křemičitany), so it has reddish color. During the day it changes its color because of sun rays.
