America´s craziest food
Hello everyone. Today´s post is about America´s weirdest meals. I hope you´ll enjoy it.
I found an amazing article from CNN about crazy food sold in America. I´ll show you 11 examples of these meals. All these recipes are put into a cookbook by George Geary.
1)Triple cheeseburger donut
This is something like a cheeseburger, but instead of a puff, there is a donut. There are three beef patties, six slides of cheese and it´s all put between a donut sliced in half.
The expert of these foods George Geary says that it is not as unhealthy as it sounds. "Technically, that recipe is a little more than a quarter-pounder, so they're small, almost like a slider." You can eat two then.
2) Deep-fried butter
Balls of frozen butter are put into a sugary buttermilk and then fried. It appeared at the Texas State Fair for the first time and then it was spread to fairs all around the country.
"It's like an inside-outside pancake, you've got the batter on the outside and it fries and the butter inside melts." says Geary.
3) Fried Coca-Cola
This crazy thing appeared at the Texas State Fair in 2006 for the first time and now it is served at fairs across the USA.
It is something like a funnel cake flavored with Coca-Cola. It is served with whipped cream and a cherry on top.
4) Fried green beans
This meal is not as unhealthy as the others and it is quite famous in USA. At the first time it was sold only at fairs, but now they are sold in restaurants too.
5) Deep fried oreos
This recipe is made by a man who called himself "Chicken Charlie". He made it for the Los Angeles Country Fair in 2002.
"They melt inside and they're really good" says Geary.
6) Corn dog
This is a hot dog covered in cornmeal batter, it´s fried and served on a stick. Geary created it for Disneyland when he was working as a pastry chef in the 80´s.
"People talk about it's one of their favorite cheap products at Disneyland." Geary says.
7) Pickle dog
It´s a honey ham slices covered with cream cheese and wrapped around dill pickle. They are popular at Minesota State Fair.
8) Coney Island chili dog
With this special hot dog is a little problem. Indiana and Michigan both claim that they have invented it. Geary wasn´t sure which one he should put in his cookbook, but at the end he chose Coney Island chili dog from Indiana.
9) Spicy peanut butter and jelly cheeseburgers
"It's kind of like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a hamburger thrown in the middle" Geary explains. It is a weirdest recipe in his cookbook btw.
10) Snow cones
This is the easiest recipe in the cookbook. You need only ice cubes, sugar and two packages of powdered drink mix.
11) Frozen cheesecake on a stick
It is just a frozen cheesecake slice put on a stick and covered in chocolate.
To sum up, this article is really good and I enjoyed reading it. Sometimes I was really suprised what people can eat.I would like to go at some fair to try some of these crazy meals. Some of them are really weird and I don´t really know if I would be that brave to try it- for example Pickle dog or Triple cheeseburger donut. But I would like to try for example Frozen cheesecake on a stick or Corn dog.
I´m sorry, but I didn´t find any pictures, so you have to only imagine these meals. I hope you enjoyed it and maybe learn something new.

It's very interesting Tereza. Some of these meal makes me sick. but I really want to taste a frozen cheesecake on a stick. It sounds very tasteful.
OdpovědětVymazatHello Tereza, I must say Americans appetite is literally disgusting. "Spicy peanut butter and jelly cheeseburgers" ? Ughhh
OdpovědětVymazatHi Tereza. I like your post...it is really interesting. But I actually don't understand American's appetite...some of these meals sound disgusting...
OdpovědětVymazatHi Tereza, this post is really nice. I didn't know that people actually eat so weird food. Like donuts with beef? I would never eat that!
OdpovědětVymazatHello! I don´t what to think about american tastes now. For me it is not easy to imagine that I eat some of these meals, they are too fat and unhealthy in my opinion. But now I´m not so surprised that Americans have the problems with overweight.
